I don't understand how netplay in Hexen works.  Could anyone give me a clear and concise explination of how to start and run a game?  I don't mean LAN - I mean connecting through IPs and stuff.  Like playing against someone on the other side of the US.  Is that possible?

Yeah, on the one side start a server and on the other side use join game menu where enter the server's IP.

Uh.  That's just it.  How do I start a sever?  I've tried the New game function in the Multiplayer menu.  I don't know what the other is to do, nor I do know if I'm starting a server properly.

To start a server, go to New Game menu In Multiplayer menu, set up settings (map, etc) and select "Start Game" and a game should start. Now other clients can connect.
